Our first workshop for 2021 is for our LGBTIQAP+ community and their families.

We’re pleased to have connected with the amazing Jade Mirabito, a trans and queer LGBTIQAP+ community member from the Gold Coast who is travelling up to present for us.

Previously a high school drama teacher, Jade now works in numerous roles supporting cultural competency across his workplaces. Jade is a service educator- providing LGBTIQAP+ focused training for individuals and organisations across SEQ. Parents/Carers Session:

This session will cover the basic 101 of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Intersex, Queer, Asexual, Pansexual +( LGBTIQAP+) community. Jade uses humor and lived experience to bring to life the reality of being an LGBTIQAP+ person living in Australia. Incorporating the use of statistics, multimedia, personal stories, activities and role play, participants will be able to bring their own learning needs to the space and get their questions answered in a safe and supportive environment.

Young Persons Session

Join Jade, a trans and queer LGBTIQAP+ community member for an evening of good chats, laughs and storytelling. This session will cover the whole LGBTIQAP+ acronym, bust some myths and reveal some facts. We will use activities, multimedia, personal stories and role play to explore how we can form community and maintain our general wellbeing when faced with some of the difficulties associated with living our truths. Together we will create a safe and supportive space to explore our own identities, ask questions and do some skill sharing.

Cost: $95/ person (NDIS claimable)

Options available for a dinner outing for the young people during the parent session, please let us know if you would like to reserve a spot (at an additional cost)
